Work Management specialists ShareDo raise £1M in Series-A funding to accelerate development

September 20th 2018—slicedbread, a Manchester UK based technology startup has announced that it has closed a round of series-A funding led by Sussex Place Ventures (‘SPV’), the Venture Capital arm of the London Business School. Barnaby Terry, Managing Partner of SPV, will join the slicedbread board.

Over a number of years, slicedbread recognised the radical change taking place across the whole legal industry, and as a consequence, the first version of ShareDo was developed to support organisations in adapting and deriving opportunity and value from this industry transformation.

ShareDo is a tool that ensures people within a law firm are doing the right tasks at the right time, with full management oversight whilst providing clients with transparency, self-service capabilities and a reason to retain the firm’s services due to these added values. In short, ShareDo reduces waste, optimises pricing and enhances client service.

Having established a solid base of early clients including Keoghs, Hall & Wilcox, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Eversheds Sutherlands and Freeths, ShareDo is favourably positioned to meet the demand from all legal firms wishing to embrace innovation.

Ben Nicholson, joint founder and CEO of slicedbread identifies a number of areas where ShareDo can be further enhanced to transform the work management lifecycle.

“In simple terms our vision for ShareDo is that from the moment a client or prospective client enquires about a piece of work, ShareDo (using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), will propose a plan and pricing model for the work, manage it through all its phases and use the outcome to feedback into its continual process improvement model.”

Although slicedbread has always been a profitable, self-funding company, Nicholson explains that “this vision is so game changing we feel the time is right to secure additional investment in order that we can accelerate the delivery of our vision. Our goal is to make ShareDo the de facto work planning and management platform for legal service providers, whatever their size, and we are thrilled to be joined by SPV on this journey”.

Barnaby Terry of SVP added:

“As a user of legal services, SPV knows only too well how important it is to know your law firm provider is on top of your transactions, pricing them fairly and working as efficiently as it can.”

Terry recognises “what ShareDo is doing is unique. It’s managing that end-to-end piece within the law firm however, importantly, enjoining the client in the journey and making what they do very transparent and very accessible.”

It is clear to Terry and his colleagues at SPV that “ShareDo is game-changing technology in the legal services space” and as such, “we are delighted to be able to support slicedbread in the next stage of their growth”.
